1992 Steel Brigade: Your personalized G.I. Joe figure (mail order) v2
Includes: rifle, backpack, patch
Thank you to Joe from the Toy Palace for loaning me this rare figure.
Steel Brigade v1 was made available through several mail-in offers beginning in 1987. He came in a sealed baggie with a patch, backpack, and machine gun. For several years he was built using many different Joe parts, always with the same light blue and tan color scheme. In 1992 Hasbro revised the colors of the mail order Steel Brigade figure and updated the custom file card to match. This became known as version 2 (or v2). Collectors filled out and mailed the forms below to create their own Steel Brigade persona by determining the name, specialties, weapons expertise, traits, abilities, and personality of their figure. Roll over the 1992 “Terror on the Tundra" and 1993 "Terrifying Lasers of Destruction" images below for more details, or click them to view full screen.
Hasbro sent collectors a custom file card (like the one below) with their Steel Brigade figure.

Early versions of the v1 patch have a white backing. Later v1 patches have a black backing. Steel Brigade v2 came with a re-colored patch.
