1983 Pocket Patrol Pack (v1)
The Pocket Patrol Pack is a replica of the supply pouches worn by your favorite members of the G.I.Joe Mobile Strike Force. You can carry three G.I.Joe figures, and there's room for weapons, backpacks, and helmets too!
NOTE: Although the box art showed several Joes in the Pocket Patrol, no figures were included.
Version 1 of the Pocket Patrol was sold on a blister card in stores in 1983 (seen above). This version features a slanted cavity for the logo sticker and the stamped number inside is M-33879-3.
The Pocket Patrol was then re-released by Hasbro Direct from 1987-1993 as a mail-order item, and it was offered. Several versions have been documented:
Version 2 features a rectangular cavity for the 3D, 1986 style logo sticker and the stamped number inside is M-33879-3. The P/N number on the instructions is 173283.00A, and the text has a blue color.
Version 3 features a rectangular cavity for the beveled, 1990 style logo sticker and the stamped number inside is M-33879-3. The P/N number on the instructions is 173283.00, and the text has a blue color.
Version 4 (seen here on YoJoe) was paired with Starduster at The 3rd National G.I.Joe Collectors Club Convention in Pasadena, CA. These convention exclusives came with a Hasbro gold aluminum foil seal inscribed with the following "3rd Annual G.I.Joe Convention." It looks like the sticker is vertical in the upper left corner, not trimmed diagonally. If that is the case it is a different version than version 6.
Version 5 features a rectangular cavity for the Rapid Deployment Force logo sticker, and the stamped number inside is M-33879-3. The P/N number on the instructions is: 173283.00, and the text has a black color.
Version 6 is a bit of a mystery. It features a rectangular cavity for the 2D, 1982 style logo sticker and the stamped number inside is M-33879-4. The P/N number on the instructions is 173283.00A, and the text has a blue color.
