​Kid Stuff Gift Pack (Kid Stuff Records & Tapes, 1984)

Kid Stuff Records & Tapes released three books under license from Hasbro in 1984: Challenge of the Clones, The Captive City and The Deadly Satellite. These were written, produced and performed by Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan with John Hoier. All material was published by Gabrielle Amanda Music, Inc. (BMI). It is not clear who illustrated  these books. 

All three books were sold individually and included a two-sided record that you played back while reading the book – so you could SEE the pictures, HEAR the story, and READ the book! All three books were also sold in the gift pack seen here and included two-sided cassettes that you played back while reading the book. Images of this set are courtesy of Ryan Smith.

These books were marketed as "a delightful, entertaining way to encourage children to read."

Kid Stuff Records & Tapes also released The Challenge of the Clones and The Deadly Satellite on one "Tape-Me-Along" Cassette.
​This cassette was sold without the books, and the audio was edited to remove any references to the story books.
