1983 Gumball Pocket Pack Dispenser (Superior Toy & Manufacturing Co., Inc.)
These gumball pocket pack dispensers and gumballs were produced starting in 1983 by the Superior Toy & Manufacturing Company, Inc. These pocket pack dispensers included 10 pieces of gum. Other G.I.Joe-themed gumball items released by Superior included 100 piece gumball refill packs and 3 unique gumball banks.
Collector's note: these gumball pocket pack dispensers were released with standard gumballs and with G.I. Joe-themed gumballs. See the pictures below for a comparison of both styles. G.I. Joe-themed gumballs included multiple 1982 G.I. Joe characters, the M.M.S., Mobat, Ram, and Vamp.
Notice the package shows a date of 1982 but we are listing this as a 1983 item. The reason for this is based on trademark information the first use of these pocket pack dispensers was on 2/1/1983, and the first use in commerce was on 9/1/1983, as shown here.
