1989 Night Ray (Night Force)

All eight Night Force vehicles (five from 1988 and three from 1989) were repaints. The Night Ray is a repaint of the 1984 Cobra Hydrofoil.

NOTE: Although the box art showed several Joes manning the Night Ray, and several are pictured above, no figures were included.

Re-released vehicles featured box art that was painted directly over the box art of the original vehicle.
In this case, you can see where the Cobra Eel and Ripper were left untouched under the hatches of what used to be a Cobra Hydrofoil!

The Night Ray features several moving parts and removable parts, and the sculpt is incredibly detailed.

The Night Ray is a highly detailed, heavily armed attack boat.

Press down on the missile activator to raise the retractable, forward-launching missile box.

The forward-launching missile box houses four HE-J -180 air to water missiles.

A remote-targeting pilot-operated 19mm machine gun sits next to the missile activator.

Two hatches open to carry more Joes below deck.

The Moray features huge port and starboard shore-assault 55mm cannons.

A remote-controlled electronic torpedo launch system deploys port and starboard angular-launch, surface swimming torpedoes.

The flying-turret command post houses a rapid-fire 23mm synchronized twin-barrel cannon.

Two HE-07 air-to-ground low-flight missiles are mounted to port and starboard of the flying-turret command post.

Four lateral 30 caliber machine guns guard the rear.

The cabin is nicely sculpted, with several tools on the rear wall.

Rear remote release depth charge binnacles hold four 75 pound, 9 inch depth charge canisters. Check out the spin above to see Spearhead and Shockwave deploying these canisters.
