1989 Hovercraft (Battlefield Robot)

All four Battlefield Robots were designed by Guy Cassaday. He optimized costs by utilizing the maroon gun, missiles, and whip antenna on both Cobra Battlefield Robots and the gray wheels, green whip antenna, missiles and missile rack on both G.I.Joe Battlefield Robots.

The Hovercraft features several moving parts and play features.

The high speed Cobra Hovercraft glides across all surfaces at 90+ mph.

The Hovercraft is armed with a dual barrel "Crusher" internally cooled .50 cal machine gun.

The servo-controlled automatic stabilizing gun mount safely rotates the machine gun 180 degrees.

The Hovercraft is also armed with four "Sailfish" forward-looking radar surface torpedoes.

The "Extra Glide" hydraulically-suspended command seat also features a seat-belt.

The turboshaft / rotor transmission housing is nicely detailed with chains that connect the rotors.

The Hovercraft is propelled by two carbon-fiber counter-rotating high speed rotors.

The rotors can be removed for a full view of the GB-700 / 700 HP free-turbine turboshaft engine.

Three hidden wheels enable the hovercraft to roll across surfaces.

The Hovercraft is dated 1988 but was released in 1989.
