1990 ​Sky Sharc (Sky Patrol)

The Sky Sharc is coated with a scientifically advanced, radar reflective protectant! These seasoned combat crafts have been refurbished and re-equipped with the latest in high-impact armaments, giving G.I.Joe total air-superiority over Cobra! 

All four Sky Patrol vehicles were repaints. The Sky Sharc is a repaint of the 1984 S.H.A.R.C.: Flying Submarine.

NOTE: Although the box art showed Skydive manning the Sky Sharc, he did NOT come with the Sky Sharc. 

The Sky Sharc is a one-man attack craft armed with elevating twin cannons.

The Sky Sharc features several moving and removable parts, and the sculpt is nicely detailed.

The Sky SHARC's nose is equipped with a tungsten main running light that illuminates the path in the murky depths of the sea or in the dark skies, as well as water/atmosphere analyzers to monitor the sea/air conditions.

The Sky SHARC's boron-epoxy, titanium frame construction improves upon the original with its sophisticated chrome radar reflective fuselage, rendering it invisible to even Cobra's advanced detection systems.

The three-dimensional G.I. Joe logo used for all Joe product at the time is emblazoned on each wing, compared to the two-dimensional logo present on the wings of the original SHARC (which also represented the Joe logo that was used on all product at the time of its release). The shark logo on the tail fins of the original SHARC has been relocated to the canopy and has been replaced on the fins by the Sky Patrol vehicle logo (which is reminiscent of the Skystriker logo and is completely different than the Sky Patrol package logo).

The main heat dissipator keeps the engine performance optimal even during extreme circumstances.

The ceramic laminate exhaust nozzles propel the Sky SHARC through the sea and the air.

The impact-resistant, tinted gullwing canopy opens to the left side to allow pilot access. If needed, it can be opened via the emergency release access hatch directly behind the canopy.

The primary water/atmosphere feeders on the front of each wing enable the Sky SHARC to fly through the air or swim through water effortlessly.

The two positional main vertical stabilizers/guidance rudders swivel to either side, enabling both vertical take off and landing.

The extraordinarily-spacious single-pilot cockpit fits any vintage Joe figure (except the Mega-Monsters, Golobulus, and possibly the Armor Tech and Lunartix characters).

The target acquisition/pilot vision system provides the pilot with vital data essential to completing the mission.

The Sky SHARC's electronic engine control module (E3CM) is installed directly between the canopy and the engine compartment's removable ventilator screen.

The nicely detailed engine can be accessed by removing the ventilator screen.

On first glance, these panels appear to provide maintenance access to the wings and atmosphere feeders ....

However, the panels actually elevate into firing position to reveal twin 30mm compression projected cannons. Cobra won't know what hit them!

The SHARC can also fire its two removable series 1, acoustic, ASW missiles (torpedoes) to eliminate Cobra targets.

The SHARC's underside features an impressive amount of sculpted mechanical detail and a switch on each wing to elevate/hide the wing cannons. The pegs that normally hold the missiles in place are shaped identically to the standard vintage backpack peg and allow the SHARC to carry up to two additional Joes into battle.
