1989 Mudfighter

The Mudfighter features several moving and removable parts, and the sculpt is nicely detailed.

The front overhead view emphasizes most of the prominent labels, including the Cobra target tally beside the cockpit and the main G.I.Joe logo.

The black vertical winglets are made of flexi-steel and provide computer-enhanced aerodynamics. On this side of the plane, the “Ground Assault Wing” insignia is located on the winglet.

The propellor on the rear of the plane is unducted and provides both forward and reverse power modes.

The angled front end of the Mudfighter houses an advanced warning, telescopic, infrared radar system. The upper half of the exterior provides a blast-proof, thermal bonded, anti-armament defense system. Note that the landing gear is permanently extended and cannot be retracted or otherwise hidden.

The array of bombs carried by the plane are all visible from the underside. The body itself stores the eight AS-99 delayed detonation air-to-surface bombs, while each wing rack holds four M-7A cluster bombs that each have a pre-contact detonation mechanism. Additionally, the section of the main body between the AS-99 bombs and the propellor itself contains a low-angle assault fan with infrared tracking beam capability.
