1983 Toy Chests (American Furniture and Toy Company)
American Furniture and Toy Company rolled out two licensed G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero products in 1983. Their 1983 catalog (shown above) introduced the "Footlocker" and the "Jeep Toter." These toy chests were a mix of old and new artwork.
The front of the Footlocker features "To the Rescue," a beautiful painting that was originally released as part the 1982 mail-order poster set. The rest of the Footlocker sports olive drab illustrations made to look like wood paneling. Inside the lid of the Footlocker is an original illustration with roads and bushes, scaled to work with 1:18 figures and vehicles.
The Jeep Toter sports an all-new illustration of Clutch at the wheel of the VAMP on each side! Every panel of the Jeep Toter shows the VAMP from the appropriate perspective, creating the illusion of a real VAMP in your living room!
