The 1995 G.I.Joes that will never be.
There were dozens of figures and vehicles in development for 1995, from space / science-fiction concepts like Star Brigade, Manimals and Replicators, to Battle Corps Rangers which were intended to reconnect the line with it's military roots. Den Beauvais, a prominent Fantasy/Science Fiction artist, created the [unproduced] card art for the Replicants. He had this to say abut the project: "This was a strange gig at the time. Hasbro G.I.Joe Replicants. I did these for the packaging but unfortunately they never went in to production. They had buttons on their backs that when pressed these slimy creatures would emerge.
